For LENS-ARTISTS CHALLENGE #301 – FLORAL hosted by Sofia, I chose flowers native to the eastern United States. It is surprising how many of the “wildflowers” I photograph are not native to my area. Many state and county parks are working to eradicate invasive species and reintroduce native foliage.
I’m glad you went for native flowers, it gives me a chance to see new flowers to me and they are beautiful. Our thistle is slightly different, this one is so vibrant.

Thank you! I thought the thistle looked especially vibrant as well, as generally they are more lavender in color. It may actually be a western North American species, known as Edible Thistle.

Thistles are one of my favorite blooms, sadly they don’t grow here. Beautiful floral choices
