A rustic “treehouse” hostel in Brunswick, Georgia provided an amazing overnight stay for a family roadtrip down to Florida. Not far off the highway, but deep into the woods, we were transported to the silence of the forest.
We stayed in a two story cabin – kids upstairs. The walls were strategically placed to block the view and sounds from the common areas. The rest of the walls were screened with views of the forest.

A dreaded night hike to the composting toilets became an enchanting stroll under the stars. I wish I had had time to take advantage of the outdoor bathtub the next morning.

We did manage a morning hike to the lake before heading back to the sounds of the road.
