You materialize out of nowhere!
Startling me
With your ominous warning call
Darkening the mid-afternoon sky
Vexing the trees that arch and sway in unison
Generating showy bolts of lightning.
Transfixed
I stare out the window
As fat drops of rain splat the windowpane
I should retreat - safely shelter
But I find your sheer power bewitching.
W3 Prompt #64: Wea’ve Written Weekly’s poet of the week, Sylvia Cognac, prompts us to write: “a poem of any style and any length on the topic of ‘Power’.”
‘So Many Shadormi’, a shadorma by Sylvia Cognac.
Very evocative and vivid poetry.

Thanks, David! The photo was actually my mom’s. She was quite the traveler, so I have no idea where it was taken.
