I Am Here

The pain
Must be intense and unbearable
You hid it well for awhile
Somehow dissociated from the reality
But I see it now
I hear it in your voice
A melody in a shriek
I yearn to ease your burden
But I cannot change the truth
Just know that I am here
To provide some lightness in intensity
A warm hug
An attentive ear
A welcome diversion
Just know that I am here
