Recurring Dream

Motion slow in a desperate run
Notion I’ve been here before
Ocean flows from subconscious stream
Emotion spills onto shore

Look for meaning in recurrent dream
Books and blogs are inconsistent
Good luck, omens, polar extremes
Outlook for answers is nonexistent

Thank you Melissa Lemay for selecting me as this week’s PoW for W3!

This is my poem in response to my own prompt for W3 Prompt #81: Wea’ve Written Weekly.

write a “lento”on the topic of dreams

  • Two quatrains (four-line stanzas) with a fixed rhyme scheme of abcb, defe, as the 2nd and 4th lines of each stanza must rhyme;
  • All the FIRST words of each verse should rhyme;

Thank you David for this fun and challenging weekly prompt showcasing different writers and styles!

  1. Recurrent dreams are rare but you have captured all the thoughts about them that I have when I do experience this….
    Was such a different prompt and the rhyme at start as well as end lines was a new one for me, but thank you for a new form to try – and totally love yours
