Truth is hidden in darkness
Buried under layers of should bes and what ifs
Distorted by human perspectives
Stifled by fear
Smothered by ego
Truth exists as the brightest light
It has no agenda
Where there’s no light in darkness
Truth is mere delusion

The repetition of ‘truth’ is very effective, Jennifer, and I like the idea of it being buried ‘under layers of should bes and what ifs’, like treasure, ‘the brightest light’. That’s why I really dislike the phrase ‘my truth’ – it belongs to everyone.

Truth is light in darkness… I believe our world is stumbling around looking for that elusive light. Really thoughtful poem

But just like light need darkness to be seen, maybe truth need lies to really shine.
