Why do the Terns stand there so?
Still as statues
Faces to the wind
Is there hope for stillness on a summer day?
When crowds of beach-goers line the shores
Certain to provoke flight

I find it interesting why birds face the wind and read any other direction would ruffle their feathers, depending on the species. A delightful and very enjoyable piece, Jennifer.

Well of course that makes sense. I think we also prefer to face (at least light) wind over having hair blown in our faces. Thank you, Eugi!

You’re welcome, Jennifer. I agree about preferring to face a light wind, especially when one has long hair.
