Bound to eat pizza in the park
On a sunny Christmas holiday
Next to my faithful friend
Disappointed no meat scraps from the table
Excited for the scent of anchovies
Determined to eat the last slice
W3 Prompt #134: Wea’ve Written Weekly. Thank you Carol Anne and David for choosing/featuring me as this week’s POW.
Melissa’s Fandango Flash Fiction Challenge #295

I had no idea it was an acrostic until I got to the end. What a perfect combination of prompts! Do you like anchovies? I don’t think I’ve ever had them.🐟

Thank you, Melissa! I only like anchovies when melted in lots of oil or butter and combined with breadcrumbs, preferably on pasta. I am not a fan of fish on pizza.

Great shot and poem, it’s difficult to know if the dog loves or hates the pizza. Thanks for the lovely prompt.

Its funny because if I’m in the kitchen cooking and I even mutter “oh, shit” under my breath he comes running to see what I’ve dropped!

I wish I liked anchovies. (I like Worcester sauce—i think it contains anchovy) They are so good for you! Love your clever combining of the two prompts. 👏

Jenn, this is such a fun and playful acrostic! You’ve captured the simple joy of a pizza outing perfectly—it’s full of warmth, humor, and a little bit of pizza-loving determination!
Also, I wanna let you know that this week’s W3, hosted by the wonderful Sarah Whiley, is now live:
