A haibun: Thanksgiving Feast

I was so excited when we arrived at the beach for our Thanksgiving holiday. All morning I ran around the house. I played tag with the kids and barked at walkers passing by. When are we going to the beach? I sat patiently in the kitchen, while scraps of food periodically fell to the floor. I dutifully cleaned them up. I really scored under the dining room table. I love turkey! We finally make it to the beach before nightfall, but all I can do is lay in the sand.

Family and friends gather
To overindulge
