Light Through Dusk

Sea swells swirling endlessly
Protected cove sought for rest
A beacon of light shines through
Early winter dusk

Guiding me toward the sound
I maneuver my vessel
Skilled hands holding steady while
Chilly north winds blow

Safely moored in calm waters
A moment of gratitude
Precedes the yearn for home and
Warmth around the hearth
