Forbidden love will not prevail
Rivals determined to assail
Sure to be a tragic tale
Death is on the horizon

Looming peril does not deter
Ardent pursuit of the lover
Clandestine meetings do occur
Heartbeats rise to the occasion

Climax at last - caught in the act 
Succeeded by brutal attack
Music intensifies impact
All fall silent on death

Heartfelt lamenting song
Prayerful cries of unjust wrong
Tear filled eyes - enraptured throng
Magically joined hereafter
