Microcosms of the universe;
even in ashes or dust
we shall be
one with nature.
Yet…
We are intruders.
Destroyers of habitat,
polluters of sky and sea.
Determined to disturb nature’s balance
for our own gratification;
to our own demise.
We don’t belong.
W3 Prompt #105: Wea’ve Written Weekly poet of the week, Destiny, prompts us to: “Compose a free verse poem of no more than 12 lines on the theme of ‘belonging’.”
Beautiful photo and poem, JJJ!

Yes, unfortunately. We don’t seem to fit in with the natural order of things. Thanks, David.
