They do have a lot of patience. I’ve watched them fish for their dinner many times at our marina. So beautiful.

And that’s exactly what they do!! It can get dangerous when they try to snatch a fish that still has the hook!

I would imagine so, but luckily have not witnessed that.

We saw it – not the snatching of the fish but the 4 guys trying to unhook the fishing line and hook from the pelican’s pouch! At least they had the equipment at hand – a net and some pliers. But pelicans are not little birds and that beak is a lethal weapon!!
