I sit on the fence of neutrality
Listening to your perspective
Perhaps I do not share your views
Yet I will listen
As you are not going anywhere
And neither am I
I am grounded by my circumstances
Tolerant of your presence
Indifferent to your troubles
As will I be to the next
Who feels the need to bare their soul
An attempt to both personify and objectify the emotion apathy, as prompted by dVerse Poetics (hosted by Mish) and W3 Prompt #152: Wea’ve Written Weekly poet of the week, Anupama.

Sometimes that fence is unpenatratable which leads to so much frustration!

Alas… too common when action is needed.

You sound like you could be a counselor! Well done. Sometimes it’s the best way (not) to go!

Now if we could move from apathy to empathy, things might change for the better!

This resonates very much for me! Not a fan of apathy at the moment. The personification works so well here.

I love the close on this. It will eventually be our own turn, and the way we wish to be treated while airing our own strife should definitely be the way we treat others.

The image reminds me of the small statuettes found all over Uzhhorod, Ukraine …
Very important philosophy to remember in your words
