Raise your sleepy heads
Dormant grasses transform green
Showered in spring rains
Clouds part overnight
Sunbeams call to wildflowers
Raise your sleepy heads
Dew covered faces obey
New day eagerly greeted

I love that first line “raise your sleepy heads”. I think it can double as being us and our sleepy heads, along with the flowers. Beautiful.🤩

This is excellent! I worried everyone would forget to add a kigo word, but not you, Jennifer. Well done. I love how the first line becomes the pivot in the tanka. 💜
