Bleak and weary
Skies of dull gray
A passing storm
Excites with booming thunder
Thrills with lightning flashes
Tired eyes awaken
To vibrant rainbows
Altered version:
Bleak and weary
Rivulets of dull gray
A passing stream
Excites with booming timber
Thrills with liquid flows
Tired falls awaken
Creating vibrant rainbows
W3 Prompt #163: Wea’ve Written Weekly poet of the week, Kim, prompts us to write a poem and modify it in whole or in part, using http://www.spoonbill.org/n+7/.
Lovely transformation—gentle, fluid, and full of motion. The shift from storm to stream brings a quiet kind of magic. A calm spark wrapped in poetic rhythm.

Jen, I ended up using lines from versions 11 – 15 to avoid too much cross over from the original… This however makes perfect sense!!

These are both excellent poems Jennifer and they work so well together as they link and contrast. Well chosen phrases and ideas!

I love the shift from a storm to a stream with the transformation. Both end on a lovely rainbow. Wonderful take!
