A Haibun: Awaiting the Train

I shiver in the cold Autumn air. It is Sunday morning and I am awaiting the train at a quiet station surrounded by forest. I’m on the outskirts of Berlin heading to Prague. A few deep breaths of fresh, cool air as I gaze over the empty tracks shrouded in mist. The train approaches and the chaos of urban life resumes.

Autumn air chilling
Warm train appearing through mist
Doors seal out silence
